Enjoying not working

Not much to blog about. I'm enjoying not working. Sleeping in till 8am (if the dogs let me), having a leisurely breakfast, walking the dogs down by the river. All in all, just enjoying my retirement. Nights are finally cooling off enough to just open the windows. Pulled the day/night shades down in the bedroom (except for the one over the bed) and put up curtains. So much homier. Finished making a new sofa cover to match the dinette. Lot of work but happy its done. Still waiting for my RV guy to let me know about fixing the leaks in my two windows on the driver's side. Pulled off the valances and day/night shades in the living room. Sure opens up the space and makes it look bigger. Ordered those cellular shades for the living room that are cordless. Also ordered a blackout cellular for over the bed - one that you can raise from the top or bottom. Decided to go ahead and spend the money since I won't be getting a new awning this year cause I'm going to have to spend money on the windows.
Buddy's happy I'm done with the sofa so he can have HIS sofa back.

Sassy, as usual, stays on her bed but makes sure the pillows are just so to fit her little nest.

Home at Guadalupe Park

I'm thankful to be back to my homebase park for the winter. The management at Schreiner Park makes the KOA's look really, really good. Typical city politics - too many chiefs and no indians. Never did figure out exactly who was my supervisor. There are lots of changes, almost daily, in management people. Almost everyone is looking for other jobs and the one's running the place have never RV'd - don't know the difference between 50amp and 30amp. The other girl in the office (a temp not an rver) was going to leave the 1st of November but when she left Friday, she left a note on the door saying she wouldn't be back, she was leaving town. Thank God my house has wheels.

My daughter's fiancee' got home from Iraq the other night. We picked him up at the airport at midnight then went to get something to eat so I didn't get to bed until almost 3am. That's the latest night I've had in years. He's been there for 7 months. He says things are actually getting much better in Iraq and the Iraqies have really stepped up their involvement in their own country.
