Tahlequah, OK

Carole and I have moved on to Tahlequah, Ok, the Cherokee Capitol. Staying at a really nice PA park for $10 a night and we're the only ones here. All grassy sites and LEVEL.

Today we went to the Cherokee Heritage Museum and learned a lot of the Cherokee history. You can't take pictures inside the museum but we did take photos of the replica of a traditional village - as the guide said, "no teepees". The Cherokee were an agricultural society and stayed in one place. They also had some of the original buildings in Tahlequah; the school house, a church, etc.

Branson, MO

Nice leisurely drive from Petit Jean State Park to Branson MO. Pretty country in the Ozark Mountains. Saturday Tina, Beth and I drove around picking up tickets for all the shows we want to go to. Sunday all of us but Tina went for the lunch and show cruise on the Branson Belle paddle wheeler. Carole went to see a Hank Williams show. Said the guy really sounded and looked like Hank. Carole is going to see Paul Revere and the Raiders today while I rest up and work on our trip home. Tonight most of us are going to see a "Neil Diamond" show. We extended our stay one day so we could do a couple of shows on Wedsneday.

Arkansas GTG Sept 2010

After getting the roof leak repaired then the AC replaced at Camping World on Friday we FINALLY hit the road from New Braunfels and got as far as Lampasas (a little over 100 miles) for the night. Stayed at a nice PA park between Burnet and Lampasas. Spent the next night at another PA park in Tyler, Texas. This was a "get what you pay for" place. Good thing was they had cement pads so we were level. Bad thing was it was surrounded by big gravel and you were about three feet from your neighbor and its was HUMID!!!! Next day was a long drive (about nine hours cause we made a couple of stops) to Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas. The park is beautiful and our site was gorgeous, with a great lake view. Said "Hi" to those that were already there, had a glass of wine and headed for bed. The next day Carole and went and registered then went to the car museum. They had both the cars I've always wanted: a 1955 black Thunderbird and a red 1954 MGTD. They also had a 1913 Harley motorcycle. Tuesday night we had our potluck and the gift exchange - lots of fun. Lots of Flamingo stuff was there. Belle even got her Flamingo wine glass. Today everyone is kind of doing their own thing and tomorrow is the breakfast.

My New Neighbor

Sharon (Sprinter) got here Sunday and will be here for the winter. Will be so nice to have a friend as a neighbor and someone to have my afternoon glass of wine with. This park should be happy to have me as I've brought them two monthlies. I fixed dinner as a welcome home for Sharon. I'll be leaving here the 10th headed to Carole's overnight while she loads her stuff in the RV then Saturday morning we're off for Arkansas. Hopefully we'll meet up with Birdie and maybe Vicki (Yakn1) in Tyler and caravan from there.
